Our Story

As parents, grandparents and carers, the health and happiness of our children is important to us. For my family, living on the Sunshine Coast Queensland with some of the best beaches in the world in our backyard and a climate that encourages being outdoors all year round, one of my main concerns was balancing our outdoor lifestyle with protecting our children from sun damage.

After working for many years with the Cancer Council Queensland finding swimwear and rashies that were SunSafe for my children was a priority. However like any parent, I still wanted my children to be comfortable and look good. I was tired of buying rashies that disintegrated, lost their colour and as a result provided diminished protection from the sun. Just as frustrating was the wrestling match that occurred to try and get the rashie over my children’s head. That’s where Sandy Feet Australia came in.

When my children were quite young I discovered Sandy Feet Australia swimwear, which made enjoying the outdoors responsibly a lot easier. Sandy Feet Australia swimwear and rashies offered comfortable, SunSafe, UPF50+ swimmers that truly last. My kids and I loved the swimwear and rashies so much that when Sandy Feet’s founder, Lone Lawson, decided that it was time to explore other adventures, our family bought the business!

I am so excited about this new adventure for our family, and can’t wait to share our passion for swimwear and beachwear that is sun safe, long lasting and fashionable with our friends and customers. We intend to stay true to the unique retro Scandinavian style that Lone has created in her swimwear designs, and continue to produce the highest quality children’s swimwear and rashies.
